Did you guess where I went? Your right, The Magic Capital of the World, Las Vegas. The person that I’m meeting is none other than the world’s best, David Copperfield. During my eight days there, I took in as many shows as possible including Steve Wyrick, Nathan Burton, Lance Burton, Penn & Teller and the main man, David Copperfield. After David’s last show his assistant brought me out to her car. Within a few minutes my hero climbed into the front seat, reached over his hand and introduced himself. We talked as we drove to his private warehouse and museum. The International Museum and Library of the Conjuring Arts, which is not open to the public, has the world’s largest collection of magic. We entered the building through a secret door where David showed me memorabilia of his personal achievements such as the art work from the U.S. Postal Service stamp with his picture. We chatted for about 30 minutes until Chris Kenner (David’s executive producer ) arrived. David turned me over to Chris who conducted the tour of the museum. I spent nearly two hours with Chris as he showed me memorabilia and the illusions that David has performed over the years. I even got to touch the DEATH SAW and many other items which I have loved for years. All of Harry Houdini’s collection has been purchased and loving restored and was there in front of me including the Water Torture Cell escape. Everywhere I looked was filled with items from the history of magic. Row after row of cases filled the gigantic warehouse. The same assistant drove me back to the MGM hotel were I was staying. It took me a long time to fall asleep as visions and conversations from the last few hours filled my head. Until later, Lucas
