PREDICTING A CARD

EFFECT: predict the identity of a card without touching the deck

SECRET: Hide your card in ninth ( 9^th ) place from the top of the deck.

This is a good one to start with. Have an audience member take a deck of cards out of the box. Ask them for a number between 10 and 20.

Have them count out that number of cards one at a time placing the cards on top of each other.

Have them pick up the newly dealt cards giving you the rest of the cards. Briefly glance at the cards you have been given and then put them away.

Ask them to add the digits of the chosen number. 13 add together is 4 OR 10 added is one etc.

Deal from the top of the pack that number of cards.

At this point you predict the NEXT card is ( the one you placed ninth in the deck )

Have the person turn over the NEXT card to show your card.
